The last film I saw was “The Lovely Bones” directed by Peter Jackson who also directed “The Lord of the Rings”. This film is based on the book with the same title written by Alice Sebold. The film deals with Susie Salmon, a 14-year-old girl from Pennsylvania during the ‘70s, who is assassinated. She stays mid way between the Earth and Heaven from where she observes her family that is breaking down slowly: her mother is deeply depressed while her father doesn’t give up trying to look for the answer to the crime and Susie’ sister is left behind. So her father has to ask for help to Susie’s grandma.
Meanwhile, Susie is living in an incredible world where everything can be possible and it is affected by her family reactions. From this world she can observe her family‘s life and her killer.
On Earth, her killer is getting rid of all the clues that show he was the murderer and he is preparing another murder.
The lovely bones refers to the relationships created around the murder of Susie. It shows that something as bad as a murder can bring something good to people.
This film has an emotive and sincere tone that made it really true and you get involved in it quickly.
This film has won 6 Oscars and 20 nominations including: best young actress Saoise Ronan for her acting as Susie Salmon; best supporting actor Stanley Tucci for being George Harvey (the neighbor) and Susan Sarandom received one for her performance of Grandma Lynn. I really liked his film although when I had just seen it I felt sad and a bit depressed because normally films show fictional things but this one shows something that can happen to any of us. That made you think about everything around us. And that’s why it is so good. Moreover, it has really good special effects and the young actress Saoise Ronan performs a great role, she will become a good actress.

Oh!
