This movie is based on the novel by Francisco Pérez Gandalf.

It's about a prison officer, John Oliver, who starts working in a prison in Seville, and on the same day the prisoners start a riot and he is trapped inside the cells with the prisoners. Inside, he has to pose as one more prisoner so he pretends to be a murderer and thanks to his intelligence he became the right hand of “Mala Madre”. He is the chief of the prisoners. The prison guard continues pretending to be a murderer until...

Celda 211 talks about survival, loyalty and courage. It talks about lies and human misery. It shows how in extreme situations one can give the best (or worst) of oneself.

The film Celda 211 was the great winner on Goya night with 8 Goya prizes and 16 nominations, including best film and best director.

When I heard about this movie, I thought that I wouldn’t like it but after seeing it for the first time I completely changed my opinion. It is a very good film, it isn’t like a prison drama or something similar, it is a violent and intense film with a humorous touch.

If you have not seen Celda 211, go to see it!!
